Senator Babajide Omoworare hails from both Pa Daniel Omoworare and Ooni Adesoji Aderemi Dynasties of Akodi Moku-Laimo and Akui respectively in Ogbon Iremo, Ife-Ife and trained as a lawyer in the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (1989). He obtained his Barrister at Law Degree in the Nigeria Law School , Victoria Island (1990) and acquired post-graduate degrees/certificates in Law [LL.M/Unilag & M.Phil/NIALS], Business Administration [Business School Netherlands], Entrepreneurial Management [EDC/Pan Atlantic University] and Public Policy Analysis [London School of Economics]. He practised law in Babalakin & Co (1991-1998) and he is a Notary Public of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Omoworare was a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly (1999-2007) where he was Chairman Judiciary, Ethics & Privileges, Human Rights & Public Petitions Committees and Majority Leader. He was also Chairman and member of various other Standing and Ad Hoc Committees. Senator Omoworare represented Osun East (Ife/Ijesa) Senatorial District in the 7th and 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (2011-2019) where he served as Vice Chairman, Federal Character and Judiciary, Human Rights & Legal Matters Committees. He also served as Chairman Rules & Business and Legislative Compliance Committees. Thereafter, he served as Presidential Legislative Advisor (2019-2023) as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate).

Babajide Omoworare is a Chartered Member/Fellow of several institutes of mediation, conciliation and arbitration. He garnered capacity development/experience in parliamentary, democracy, good governance, budgeting, anti-corruption, campaigns & elections, project & strategic management etc from several reputable international development institutions, like the World Bank Institute, USA International Visitors Leadership Program, USAID, DFID, NDI, International Law Institute/Georgetown University etc. He is a member of various legal, professional and parliamentary organisations/fora and facilitates trainings for MDAs, CSOs and Institutes, including Nigeria Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies. He is a Trustee of various organisations.
He currently serves as Principal Partner [Able Legal Consult], Lead Consultant [Cosmopolitan Consult] and Senior Research Fellow [Institute of Innovation, Policy & Governance]. He also serves/d on the Board of a few consultancies/companies with interest in tax consultancy, construction/real estate and oil & gas. He is a Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) and he is happily married to Mrs. Olabisi Omoworare; a marriage blessed with two fantastic children.
