Appointment of Additional Trustees to the Trust Foundation

On June 29, 2024, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi Ojaja II (HIM), the Ooni of Ife, announced the appointment of 19 new members to our Board of Trustees at the inauguration event tagged “Omode gbon, Agba gbon, L’afi da Ile Ife.” This significant addition includes esteemed individuals such as Prof. Adebambo Adewopo SAN, Prince Timothy Arowoogun, Chief Sunday Obiyinka, Mr. Rasak Adewole, Chief Akanke Bolatito Olaobaju, Mrs. Temilomo Lawal, Mrs. Mayowa Kuforiji, Mr. Wole Akinleye, Prince Ade Adefioye, Mr. Yemi-Abaolu Johnson, Prince Adeolu Aderemi, Princess Bukola Okiji, Major General Adedoja Taiwo, Mr. Seun Babatunde, Mr. Debo Olujimi, Architect Tokubo Omisore, Prince Lupo Aderemi, Prince Aderemi Sijuwade, and Prof. Wahab Egbewole. These individuals, known for their impeccable character and contributions to the Ife community, bring a wealth of experience and dedication to the Board.

The appointment of additional trustees is a strategic move to bolster the Trust’s capacity to achieve its goals and objectives. During the inauguration event, Kabiyesi expressed optimism about the Trust’s future, envisioning the raising of 5 billion naira within five years. In a show of commitment, he pledged 50 million naira to support the Trust’s initiatives. Distinguished community members at the event also made significant donations, highlighting the collective effort required to build a new Ife.

Our Chairman, Mr. Soji Awogbade, expressed gratitude to Kabiyesi for his unwavering support. He acknowledged the dedication and commitment of the founding trustees, emphasizing the Trust’s commitment to transparency and accountability in its activities.

It is noteworthy that the Trust was inaugurated on February 19, 2023. Since then, the founding trustees have worked tirelessly, each donating 5 million naira, demonstrating their commitment to the development of Ife. Part of the Trust’s activities since its inauguration included its registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission, further solidifying its legal and operational framework.
